Being in the educational business for years, we have come across two types of parents; one who ask teachers to be soft with children whether or not their behavior is righteous and the second type who expect teachers to be rough with their kids when they are out of control. There has always been a question on what is the correct way to deal with children when their conduct is not as per what society calls an “accepted behavior”. Discipline helps children to be better prepared for tomorrow. It helps them learn how to behave and how not to behave in certain situations. There are various ways we can help our children learn discipline and even self-discipline for that matter, it doesn’t have to be punishment!
Discipline at different phases - infant, toddler, preschoolers, school going Find the right balance -
Be a role model - Be the person you want your child to be. Set an example for them on how they should behave. This will make them self learn the moral values which is a much better way of learning than any other way of teaching discipline and morals.
